Benitez having hauled the Reds to within a point of 4th spot is looking for three wins from the next three matches against Everton, Arsenal and Man City.
Just by reading those three team names we all know we now enter a very critical time of the season something the gaffer has acknowledged saying
“We talk about crucial times and this period is very important,”
“I’ve spoken with the players and we have been analysing what we have (in terms of fixtures) until the end of the season and this is the most crucial phase.
“We are close to the top four and we cannot make too many mistakes and we play against three teams that are around us.
“It is important to keep winning games to maintain the momentum and it would be fantastic to win all three but you have to start with the first one.
“We want to make sure we get back into the top four and this is the first opportunity to try and do that.”
Obviously its a doubled edged sword, we cock up in these three games and that top 4 spot all of sudden can look a long way off.
Benitez is dead right, we need to take these games one at a time but a win this weekend will definitely give us momentum.
